L.A.P.D. was KoRn before they changed their singer and came up with the new name of the band.

The original line-up of players was:

Richard Morrill - Vocals
David Silveria - Drums
Garr (Fieldy) - Bass
Munky - Guitar

            L.A.P.D.

Who's Laughing Now?

They played out as L.A.P.D. for about 2-3 years, maybe a little longer (around 1990-1993). They put out their first 12" LP and then a full-length called "Who's Laughing Now." Then in 1997 they re-issued both releases as one CD called "L.A.P.D." - this is their collected works with all new graphics (catalog # 51235-2). If you like what you hear, you should go out and by the L.A.P.D. cd if your able to find it. It's a little more "organic" sounding than KoRn but most definitely in the same style. Richard Morill has a great new band called ESex. ESex have been talking with Triple-X records lately but nothing has come up. Right now, They are playing around town in Los Angeles. When L.A.P.D. got there copyrighting deal they actually chose "LAPDog". If you look on the album you can see Richard's name is spelled wrong, it was spelled "Morales" but it's actually "Morrill".

Dean Naleway, a promotional manager: "They were poor, man. They had just enough money to get something to eat. They all had little side jobs that they could really care less about, that they were doing just to get enough money so they could pay their rent and eat." "They didn’t have any money. We were, like, splitting McDonald’s hamburgers. We had to make sure we had enough money for the beer that we needed for that day and whatever was left over, we’d buy McDonald’s hamburgers."

Dean: "We started getting them some live engagements and they were playing around town, which was kind of a nightmare. They were pissing a lot of people off, they were into a lot of different mischiefs like breaking shit backstage, peeing in the dip, throwing food…" Before settling on Creep the ex-LAPD outfit considered Crunchy Taters.
